Will my wheel fit?
Maximum hub width = 175mm
Maximum rim size = 29 inches / 700c
Maximum rim + tire size = 35 inches
- Yes it will fit a standard 29" mountain bike rim + tire, it will just take some manoeuvring to get it on if you can't be assed removing the tire.
- Yes it will fit a fat bike wheel if the hub widths are less than the above.
Will it warp?
All plywood runs the risk of warping, and the most common type of warp in plywood is bowing. Baltic birch is not immune, it’s still a wood product. However, Baltic birch has the odds stacked in its favor much better than other plywood, especially in 3/4″ thickness and the fact that it's cut down to smaller sizes. 3/4″ Baltic birch in particular won’t change much in width or length, that’s why it’s great for jigs and fixtures that need to maintain accuracy over the years.
What is Baltic Birch?
Required hub width not etched - what can I do?
There’s a ruler beneath the logo to set whatever hub width you’d like. Or shoot us an email and we might be able to customize a base for you.
Can I leave my tire on?
Yes. The height of the overall stand is 420mm (16.5in). It takes some manoeuvring with the side indicators to place the wheel on.
What is the 'extended arms' version?
This allows the side indicators to slide further up, accomodating smaller wheels. If you're working on anything larger than 24", you'll be fine with the standard.
